Grass Valley Group Opens New European Headquarters

—Plaque unveiled by Lord Kenneth Baker—

LONDON, Feb. 11, 2000 — Former Conservative Cabinet Minister, Lord Kenneth Baker has unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of the new European headquarters of leading broadcast systems manufacturer, Grass Valley Group, in Slough, Berkshire.

The ceremony took place on the morning of Wednesday 2nd February and was followed by a short address from Lord Baker to members of the Grass Valley Group staff, headed by John Phipps, vice president for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Lord Baker was then taken on a tour of the premises, which included demonstrations of key Grass Valley Group products, carried out in the company's new specially designed equipment demonstration area. After this, members of the press were invited to conduct interviews with Lord Baker and the Grass Valley Group management team.

Grass Valley Group moved to Slough in December last year from its previous headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The move followed the company's formation and subsequent acquisition of the video content production business of Tektronix, Inc. earlier in the year.

The Grass Valley Group is a privately held digital broadcast and video company at the forefront of the transition to digital transmission and video content production and has more than $2 billion of equipment installed worldwide. Whether it's distributing video over the air, through digital broadcast facilities and across standard data networks, or providing the industry's best video storage and production products, the Grass Valley Group has the digital solutions for the world's media markets. Its product lines include the Emmy® award-winning Profile digital video server, Emmy-award winning Grass Valley™ switchers, and Grass Valley router and modular lines.
