Powered by Grass Valley high-performance 10-bit digital image processing and video enhancement technologies, Krystal is adaptable to a variety of multiuser, multichannel configurations. Totally New DesignThe Krystal Four Channel Combiner's patented architecture allows video to be combined, mixed and layered in any order, without regard to the physical connection of channels. Other DVE combiners use cascading, or serial combining where placement of video in any layer desired is not possible. Each successive combination of channels binds the first layers together. The Krystal combiner provides layering flexibility, even with transparent and soft-edge video. Variable Layering ModesThe new Four Channel Combiner also uses the Variable Combiner modes, previously available only in the Krystal Two Channel Combiner, that allow one channel to mask another. Video is revealed only where channels overlap, or video is revealed only where channels do not overlap, and so on with up to 14 various compositing modes. Since each channel has both video and key processing, a wide variety of effects can be created. New System Control FrameFor facilities that require multiple users sharing a pool of video processor channels, the Krystal Digital Effects System is currently the only system available that can be configured for up to four simultaneous users sharing a pool of up to eight video processor channels. The Krystal Four Channel Combiner now gives simultaneous users greater access to more processing power, allowing them to work faster and more efficiently. System PackagesThe Krystal Digital Effects System is available in various standard optioned and fully optioned packages packages, starting with a single channel, single user package up through a four channel, single user package. Powerful Standard EffectsInnovative system features include corner pinning, separate but mixable crop and mask patterns, mixed internal and external key processing and emboss, blur and modulated border mattes. In addition, the Krystal Digital Effects System contains an extensive complement of luminance and chrominance pixel processing, including color mixing, contrast, posterization and color compensation. Use the Kurl effects generator for acrobatic non-linear imaging. Add trails, mosaics, montages and other recursive effects to your creative repertoire with TrailBlazer. Take advantage of your agile new Defocus technology for real-time control of rack-focus transitions or light source simulation option. Configurations and CompatibilityThe Krystal Digital Effects System is available in configurations of one to eight channels, for one or four users, with up to eight control points able to acquire channels via a standard Ethernet LAN. Krystal carries a full complement of video industry-standard interfaces for connection to other production and editing equipment. Aux bus control is standard with our broad range of switchers - including the Models 2200, 3000 or 4000. The Model 2200-2i control panel provides control of two Krystal channels and the production switcher. You can use the effects send loops of all listed switchers with Krystal to insert digital effects into a single keyer. Standard Option Package Features
