For news stations that do not have an existing playback server or control system, the Grass Valley Group offers Vibrint NewsQ™ a flexible and affordable manual playback application that supports simple two-channel A/B-roll playlist management. Each channel can operate either simultaneously or independent of each other.

Key Features

  • Simple to use. Using the familiar Microsoft Windows NT user interface, operators can quickly enter the running order of stories and clips for a newscast. Clips and stories are assigned to either an A list or B list. Each story is cued and then manually triggered for play to air. NewsQ supports two channels, each of which displays in a separate playlist window.
  • Flexible playback options. NewsQ users can easily insert, move, or delete items in the playlist without interrupting playback. NewsQ also lets you:
    • Cue to any frame of any item in the playlist
    • Freeze the last frame of an item
    • Continuously loop a single playlist item
    • Pause and resume an item currently being played
    • Prior to playing an item in a playlist, jog/shuttle to new start/stop frames
  • Part of a complete digital news production system. NewsQ is offered as part of Vibrint's complete Digital News Production Workgroup designed specifically for hard news production.
  • Standards-based platform. NewsQ runs on the an Intel Pentium platform that relies on MPEG2 video, the Microsoft Windows NT file and operating systems and standard networking and storage.
