The Profile Network Archive is the next generation archive
system that allows a network of Profile video servers to
access a central archive system. The Network Archive is based
on industry standard platforms, high-speed Fibre Channel
networking, and uses the leading archive software system to
manage the archive.
Architected for Flexibility
Flexibility is key to your ability to manage digital media
assets. Grass Valley Group's Profile Network Archive architecture
lets you configure your archive system with the optimal amount of
capacity and performance. At the heart of Network Archive is an
off-the-shelf Intel® Pentium server running
the Sun® Solaris operating system. This
server is the gateway to connecting multiple Profile video
servers to your tape library. It has the appropriate Fibre
Channel and SCSI connections to provide a high-speed link between
the network of video servers and the library system. In most
configurations, each server supports two tape drives. For larger
scale configurations, multiple servers can be used to provide as
much bandwidth as needed to access multiple tape drives installed
in the library.
