Video Production Training

Grass Valley Group offers a wide variety of customer training opportunities. Operational and technical courses on many products provide quality instruction to customers from around the world. Please refer to the Course Schedule for details of specific offerings.

Courses

The Kalypso Operations courses are taught in two levels:

  • The introductory is designed to give operators the skills needed to operate the switcher effectively for most production requirements.
  • The advanced covers advanced subjects and is designed to wring the maximum power from this incredibly flexible switcher.

The Kalypso Technical course is designed for broadcast engineers and systems technicians who need technical and operational understanding of the Kalypso Digital Component Production Switchers.

Other Switcher Courses:

Training for these products is offered onsite only. The 2200/3000/4000 Operations course covers the Model 3000, Model 4000, and also the Model 2200 (switcher only). All of these products have very similar operational features and the course covers all features found on the different models.

Digital Effects Courses:

Training for these products is offered onsite only. The Krystal DPM-4300 course covers all of the options available for the Krystal digital effects system, including operation when installed as part of the 2200i switcher. This means that customers who need to learn the 2200i switcher and digital effects system need to take both the 3000/4000 and the Krystal DPM-4300 training courses.

On-Site Training

Our normal classroom courses, as well as customized training courses, are available for on-site presentation. However, these usually require the availability of equipment at your facility for optimum training benefits. There are two categories of on-site training:

  • Operations Training Courses are usually one or two day informal courses and do not include manuals. They are loosely structured, tailored to fit, and are useful in getting end-users up to speed quickly in the operation of a product. (These courses are included with the purchase of some products).
  • Technical Training Courses are based on the technical courses held in Grass Valley training centers and usually require manuals. (A minimum of 1 manual per 2 people is required and must be purchased separately, if not already available). These courses are typically a formal, in-depth, structured, classroom approach to training with hands-on as appropriate.

Booking

All provisional bookings require written confirmation with a company purchase order within 7 days. VISA and MasterCard are also accepted. Unconfirmed bookings will be automatically dropped as the course becomes full. If a training course has been purchased along with some other equipment, please have the sales order number available when calling.
