Lennart Hjord
General Manager and Vice
President
Lennart Hjord is General Manager and Vice President of the Grass
Valley Group, responsible for operations and the Core Product Line. The
privately held digital broadcast and video equipment company focuses
squarely on helping broadcasters and video professionals make a
successful transition to digital content production and distribution, and
to take advantage of the video opportunities presented by increasing
digital bandwidth.
Prior to the Grass Valley Group, Hjord served as President and CEO of
Cygnet Storage Solutions, a privately held Silicon Valley based company
focusing on providing integrated storage solutions built on RAID and
optical storage in a SAN (Storage Area Network) environment.
Hjord brings more than 25 years of international and domestic general
management experience working for large and small Information Technology
companies. He has an extensive background in sales, marketing, product
line management, services, engineering, and manufacturing.
A native of Sweden, he started his career with IBM in roles of
increasing responsibility in manufacturing, marketing, and sales. He was
the General Manager of Digital Equipment's European Technology Center
before moving to the U.S. Prior to his role as President and CEO of
Cygnet Storage Solutions, he held senior management positions at Oracle
and Quantum.
Hjord holds a Masters of Science degree in Electronics Engineering
from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. His career
has brought him extensive internal exposure providing multilingual skills
in English, French, German and Swedish.
